I have to rant about this online in hopes that some higher up at the Travel Channel HQ will see this and do something about it.
I love the travel channel........when they're showing travel shows only.
Why all of this Man vs Food and ghost hunting crap?!!?!
Look, TC, Samantha Brown, Tony Bourdain, Andrew Zimmern, Marcus Sakey and even Bridget Marquardt are WAY better than the ghost crap and almost all of those I listed are better than Man vs Food. Maybe if Man vs Food guy were to travel around the WORLD and eat, then I could see the show being on your network.
Food is important but TRAVEL doesn't make me think of food first and foremost...as your line-up is kind of making it. (Minus the ghost junk on this note. It just doesn't even belong on your channel. Give that crap to the SCI FI channel. Let them have it and cancel it. Or NBC.)
Here are some important notes for ya, TC.
1. Samantha Brown is your best commodity. RUN HER SHOWS INTO THE GROUND!!!! Make her go everywhere! Samantha Brown's Asia was amazing. Make her do other stuff like that!
2. When it comes to food, Tony Bourdain has the PERFECT mix of it and travel. He's even got some points OVER Zimmern! (Andrew's an eater. Tony, though a food guy, shows so much culture and history before, during and while pigging out!)
3. Let me win one of your travel contests! (This one is more of a joke but I seriously entered almost all of your contests back in the day and I stopped because like with the lottery, it really is a slim chance.... :(
4. Even thought I used her name, Bridget Marquardt doesn't need a show on your channel UNLESS you are bringing her back to replace the ghost crap. She's obviously way sluttier than you want your channel portrayed to be.
5. Here's some ideas for shows for your network. Use them. Don't credit me. I don't care.
1. Have more Samantha Brown shows.
2. Have more Tony Bourdain shows but more Samantha than Tony.
3. Cancel everything with the word GHOST in the title unless it's some sort of psychic traveling and telling you about 'ghosts' while showing you a place....instead of hunting ghosts...
4. Look at number 3. Have a show where the hosts travels and shares mythological information. There's plenty of that crap in the world.
5. Have a series dedicated to Native peoples. Maybe.
6. INUIT stuff is nifty. Show more of that.
7. I saw some show you guys had with a dark haired woman on a boat and I tried to remember her name but I cannot. She went crab fishing if that helps. Well, that woman needs her own hour long program! Give it to her!!!!
8. Do a series of shows for select places, like Tony Bourdain in Russia for a Month or something like that. Have them live there for a bit and let us see it! That is such an interesting idea!!!! GO FOR THAT! Have brown haird chick from number 7 do a place, Tony in another and Sam in another!!!
Now, TC, you've got some thinking to do. Hope the outcome is marvelous. :)

holidayyyyyyyyyyyy
Mine was fantastic. Seeing everyone was a real treat. How was your holiday time? Get any good gifts?
Well, I may do an overview of everything. Why the fuck not, eh?!
12-24-11
I had to work but my awesome Momma came and picked me up. We went back to the house where I finished packing and got a quick shower. I actually wore my amazing Social Collision pants out of the house for the very first time this day. They are the most glorious pants ever to come into existence. They're reddish, skinny jeans made of pure amazing-sauce.
Well, Momma and I went to her huse and on the way there, I had her listen to the Black Lips since she and I have similar music tastes at times and she liked them, though not as much as I do. Skipping ahead to other things, my Grandma had made some tasty things for the get-together. The best food of all was her raw mushroom caps filled with crab salad. OMFG. They were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!! (I told her that she had to make them for every family gathering. Once, she and I made tomatoes filled with chicken salad and they were divine...)
I bought my brother-in-law Fast 5 on dvd because I drew his name and that's what he wanted. Get this bullshit. The dvd came in on 12-24 and it looked fake/wrapped in plastic wrap like shit. I was pissed. He's supposed to contact me and tell me how well it plays.
Needless to say, after some time with all of my Momma's side of the family, I wound up drinking Arbor Mist with step brother, playing video games with him and watching a cheesy movie on Showtime with him... lol. It was all fun. Then, I went to bed.
12-25
I woke up and had a healthy/not so healthy breakfast. Momma had homemade sausage and biscuits that I had one of with one strip of turkey bacon from my aunt. In addition to the sausage and bacon, my aunt and I enjoyed fresh fruit from a leftover fruit tray. For the next bit of time, my aunt and I sipped coffee and chatted as the rest of the house awoke. It was really fun talking to her for such a length of time. That being said, I would have loved to have spent more time with Momma but she said "you and Shana were talking and so I figured I'd let you two talk since y'all don't get to see eachother much." She was right but I also don't get to see her a whole lot, either...
Around noonish, Momma and I left for my Granny's house! (I wanted to be the first one there but I wasn't. My aunts Denise (amazzzzing) and Stephanie were there already, seated at the table with Granny and talking.)
After walking around and chatting to everyone as more family arrived every minute, I walked next door to one of my closest cousins lives. She was there cooking with her awesome mom and together, the three of us walked back to Granny's house. Soon, a big dinner ensued and I chatted with my cousin Cody, who usually talks with me for hours. He's awesome! He's a real big movie buff and now, he's got a PS3 which I find amazing. I told him that if he would get more into games we'd have even more to talk about!
At Granny's, the two most delicious things, other than Granny's famous ham that I had been waiting for since early October, were Aunt Denise's cheese ball and Granny's Jack Daniels Whiskey Cake which is sinful-chocolate-orgasmic-sweetness.
Yum.
Well, after we all ate, we had Dirty Christmas where I got a set of screwdrivers... lol. (At Momma's I won a shovel with a can of potted meat taped to it which I later sold to my step-dad for five bucks...) After playing Dirty Christmas, everyone started to leave slowly but surely. After the last person, Cody (who was busy talking to me) had left, Granny, her bf and I began to wind down. We watched some news and soon went off to bed.
12-26
It was the day for me to go back home, sadly. (I had to work 12-27-11, so I had to be home. The crappy part: I didn't realize that I had to be at work at 4:00pm. I could have stayed at Granny's longer!!!!) Granny, her boyfriend and I got ready after a delicious breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes (my favorite food that Granny makes) and we went to the cemetary first to see my grandfather's grave. I like to stop there when I am near the area. As we left, unseen to anyone, I blew a kiss towards his gravestone. I'd like to think he got it. :)
My holiday was fun. I bet I put on some weight eating so much good shit. I brough home a ton of the cheese ball and cake that I mentioned earlier and sad to say, the cake is alread gone... lol.
This post has gone on long enough. M.I.A is jamming in my ears and is now going to get my full attention.
Bye for now....
