holidayyyyyyyyyyyy

Mine was fantastic. Seeing everyone was a real treat. How was your holiday time? Get any good gifts?

Well, I may do an overview of everything. Why the fuck not, eh?!

12-24-11
I had to work but my awesome Momma came and picked me up. We went back to the house where I finished packing and got a quick shower. I actually wore my amazing Social Collision pants out of the house for the very first time this day. They are the most glorious pants ever to come into existence. They're reddish, skinny jeans made of pure amazing-sauce.

Well, Momma and I went to her huse and on the way there, I had her listen to the Black Lips since she and I have similar music tastes at times and she liked them, though not as much as I do. Skipping ahead to other things, my Grandma had made some tasty things for the get-together. The best food of all was her raw mushroom caps filled with crab salad. OMFG. They were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!! (I told her that she had to make them for every family gathering. Once, she and I made tomatoes filled with chicken salad and they were divine...)

I bought my brother-in-law Fast 5 on dvd because I drew his name and that's what he wanted. Get this bullshit. The dvd came in on 12-24 and it looked fake/wrapped in plastic wrap like shit. I was pissed. He's supposed to contact me and tell me how well it plays.

Needless to say, after some time with all of my Momma's side of the family, I wound up drinking Arbor Mist with step brother, playing video games with him and watching a cheesy movie on Showtime with him... lol. It was all fun. Then, I went to bed.

12-25

I woke up and had a healthy/not so healthy breakfast. Momma had homemade sausage and biscuits that I had one of with one strip of turkey bacon from my aunt. In addition to the sausage and bacon, my aunt and I enjoyed fresh fruit from a leftover fruit tray. For the next bit of time, my aunt and I sipped coffee and chatted as the rest of the house awoke. It was really fun talking to her for such a length of time. That being said, I would have loved to have spent more time with Momma but she said "you and Shana were talking and so I figured I'd let you two talk since y'all don't get to see eachother much." She was right but I also don't get to see her a whole lot, either...

Around noonish, Momma and I left for my Granny's house! (I wanted to be the first one there but I wasn't. My aunts Denise (amazzzzing) and Stephanie were there already, seated at the table with Granny and talking.)

After walking around and chatting to everyone as more family arrived every minute, I walked next door to one of my closest cousins lives. She was there cooking with her awesome mom and together, the three of us walked back to Granny's house. Soon, a big dinner ensued and I chatted with my cousin Cody, who usually talks with me for hours. He's awesome! He's a real big movie buff and now, he's got a PS3 which I find amazing. I told him that if he would get more into games we'd have even more to talk about!

At Granny's, the two most delicious things, other than Granny's famous ham that I had been waiting for since early October, were Aunt Denise's cheese ball and Granny's Jack Daniels Whiskey Cake which is sinful-chocolate-orgasmic-sweetness.

Yum.

Well, after we all ate, we had Dirty Christmas where I got a set of screwdrivers... lol. (At Momma's I won a shovel with a can of potted meat taped to it which I later sold to my step-dad for five bucks...) After playing Dirty Christmas, everyone started to leave slowly but surely. After the last person, Cody (who was busy talking to me) had left, Granny, her bf and I began to wind down. We watched some news and soon went off to bed.

12-26

It was the day for me to go back home, sadly. (I had to work 12-27-11, so I had to be home. The crappy part: I didn't realize that I had to be at work at 4:00pm. I could have stayed at Granny's longer!!!!) Granny, her boyfriend and I got ready after a delicious breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes (my favorite food that Granny makes) and we went to the cemetary first to see my grandfather's grave. I like to stop there when I am near the area. As we left, unseen to anyone, I blew a kiss towards his gravestone. I'd like to think he got it. :)

My holiday was fun. I bet I put on some weight eating so much good shit. I brough home a ton of the cheese ball and cake that I mentioned earlier and sad to say, the cake is alread gone... lol.

This post has gone on long enough. M.I.A is jamming in my ears and is now going to get my full attention.

Bye for now....

My leave and current goings-on

Well, it's been some time since I've logged into this blog and posted. Some things have been going on, what with Christmas shopping and the like.

A friend bought Final Fantasy VII on the PS3 market place as a gift for us and we've been playing the hell out of it. I used to think FFVII was overrated but I am in love with it now. Aerith Gainsborough is my favorite character in it and I HATE that she gets killed. (If the graphics were better, I think it would have made me cry but seeing a slightly stiff, big-eyed, blocky girl get impaled as her skirt behind her looked like a boat was sort of weird....)

Other than adventuring around with Cloud, Cait Sith and the ever-fabulous Tifa, I've been Christmas shopping and working a lot. It's almost Christmas time and I do work in a department store of sorts... lol. We've got a lot going on and in this small town that I live in, the store is busy as hell!!! (It's intense this time of year. Back when I first got hired on, I could get the store shelves 'recovered' before my shift was over. Now, I hardly ever get to move from the register...)

Gah. I can't wait for Christmas to be over but there's an upside to this madness: I get to see Granny! I'll be staying the night with her Christmas Day which is a tradition of ours. I'm excited to see her and my Mom. :)

With the Good news comes the Bad

As an update to my last post, Granny is doing a lot better. The doctors found her real issue and have temporarily corrected it. Soon, it will be fixed permenantly and she should be marvelous.

We wrecked today in the rain. It could have been a lot worse. We could have went off the other side of the road which was a big hill/drop off but we just flipped the car onto its side in the mud. The paramedics had to bust the back windshield out to get us out of the car. It sucked. I'm shaken but fine.

Life just keeps getting worse

My granny, who I am very close to, is in the hospital. This is the second time she's been in the hospital in like a two month time frame and I am VERY worried about her. I am not big on country music, though I was when I was a child but Granny loves the following song and I'm listening to it thinking about her.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP8lCapcqwM

Please hope with me that she gets better. She's having heart issues and it's really hurting me. I used to live with her some years ago and she's just like another mother to me. I'm not ready for her not to be here on this Earth.

"life wasn't worth the balance or the crumpled paper it was written on..."

Listen to this. Ignore the video. Just listen to the song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ED5nXs2Nl_0

The song is Bring me the Disco King by David Bowie and Maynard James Keenan. I am loving it. (Heard it before but for some reason, it's enthralled me now.)

Well, life is beginning to take its toll on me. Everything is starting to suck... I think that yesterday and today, my two most recent off days, have really helped me out a lot. I am growing weary of my job, even though I adore most of my co-workers. (Some more than others.)

I feel sort of trapped. I really want to just drop everything and leave the state. Louisiana is really calling to me for some reason. I loved it there when my family (plus a dumbass stepfather) went some years ago. You ever feel trapped? Sure you do.

My friend Miranda wants to go to Italy. I want to go to Italy, too. We actually looked up houses for sale in Italy, France, Russia and to a lesser serious extent, China. We also looked up homes in Bora Bora because my soul yearns for Bora Bora. It looks so gorgeous and inviting. By the way, Russia has a lot of tiny stuff. They have miniature washing machines in the strangest places. One of the homes for sale had a washing machine right beside the toilet. (Add the fabric softner while pinching a loaf!) Another had a washing machine in the kitchen right beside the stove. (No! I said bread in the oven and jacket in the washing machine, you fool!)

Back to the subject at hand: I called out of work on Thursday and I was scheduled off yesterday and today. These three days of shopping, relaxing, DCUO playing and creating have been what the doctor ordered. I feel a bit better. Small bit that is. I still want to leave the state/country.

I need lots and lots of money to do everything that I want to do.... :/

2 am

It's late. I ran my ass off at work today and I am tired but something doesn't want me to lay down just yet. I can't quit thinking of so many stupid things and it is really annoying/sad.

I just wish that there was a way to tune out specific thoughts and ignore them no matter how many things in the day remind you of them.

I would love to grab the headphones and listen to some music right now but I think I may try to get some sleep. I do have to work again tomorrow. Not off again until Thursday, actually.

I........ can't say a word.

Evanescence's New Album

I have been a fan of Amy Lee and her amazing vocals since I first heard her wayyy back in the day. Her band's last album, the Open Door, came out in 2006 and for a long time, I thought that Evanescence was dead for the lack of activity on their end but in 2011, we got a new album finally.

Now, a bit of info for all of you: The Open Door is one of those rare albums that I can listen to every song on without changing it to another song. I love the entire album so going into the new album, I was a bit biased and was looking for incredible-everything.

At first, I was disappointed by the new album. :(

That being said, I have listened to nothing but the new Evanescence album and the Black Lips for like three months straight and I must say that I adore the newest album a lot more than I originally did. There are some songs that I do not like still, particularly those towards the end of the album, but I do have some favorites.

If you are going to listen to the album or already own it, here are my faves: My Heart is Broken, The Other Side, Erase This, Lost in Paradise, Sick, Swimming Home and of course, What you Want. Gah. Amazing Amy Lee. :3

GO HAVE A LI$TEN!!!!!!!!!!!

Shadow Hearts' delightful music

I love my precious Shadow Hearts series and its marvelous music. Listen to some of them.
City - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk2GmykGvLE&NR=1

This song is played in Prague. I'd actually go to Prague sometimes and just stand there in the game to hear this song. (Yes, PeneloWeazel on Youtube is me you comment readers........)

Imbroglio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DvpaKKLJjw

This song is the final boss music on the first Shadow Hearts. Appropriate for fighting God, huh?!

Ooh La La! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgpYKCHXElM

This song plays in the second game when the party meets my most favorite character, Lucia for the first time. The accompanying video for this is from the Director's Cut of Covenant which was only released in Japan.  (For those of you that don't know, Lucia is the brunette in the peach-hued dress dancing in the lead.)

The Fate - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr5mloai1B0

When you are coming up on the end of the second game, Covenant, this beautiful and sad piece will dry hump your ears. It makes me want to cry.

Battle With The Fallen Angel - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsDUEPvuVyI

This song plays during my most favorite boss battles in Covenant, those against Astaroth. EPIC.

Dead Fingers Talk - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1EFHMwKdkY

This song is my most favorite battle theme in the entire series of Shadow Hearts. It comes from the third game, Shadow Hearts: From The New World.

Chichen Itza - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJrtPOLYpLs

This marvelous tune plays in Chichen Itza when the party goes there. I love the whole feel of this song. :3

Sabbath Demon Banquet - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k_1GW40ZqY

Perhaps the best piece of music ever made for a video game and the only time you hear it in FTNW is during the "Bad Ending" of the game, where Shania is revealed to have been taken over by the Malice from Lady's kiss.

Lady Tears II - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MRHV_Cf41E

One of the most emotional pieces of music ever made for a video game in my opinion. When the song hits about 2:57 in, it really tugs at my heart. Gorgeous. Epic. Sadness.

Those are just most of my top favorites. Listen to the soundtracks from all three games to drink in the delightful feelings, good and bad, that I feel every time I hear the music.

I leave you with...

Prison - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ynt3e6WdwIU&feature=related

This song plays in Vegas and Alcatraz in FTNW. It's so amazing. It's dark, creepy and fun all at the same time.

What made me start to like Kate Hudson...

Everyone knows of Goldie Hawn but some people do not know that the blonde actress known as Kate Hudson is Goldie's daughter.

When I first heard this, I was shocked. It was a few years ago and I thought that Kate couldn't act her way out of a paper bag filled with dog poop, lit on fire and placed on someone's doorstep but now, my opinions of Kate have drastically changed.

You see, this movie called Nine came out a while back and I REALLY wanted to see it. I finally saw it about a month or so ago and I loved it. Kate Hudson was in it and even though she wasn't a major character, she had some good parts and guess what. She sang.

Kate belts out awesomness here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28Vr5Ide780

Go listen and tell me what you think of her. ;3 She'll rock your world.

Happy Halloween

Today is my favorite holiday...................HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone has a safe and fantastic Halloween. Don't get too fat or sick on candy and for the sake of everyone's sanity, DON'T ROLL PEOPLE'S HOUSES.

Have fun.

Eat Reese's and think of me. I adore them.

10-29-2011 and Slippery Ice

Here's a reference.

http://whiteboxpaintedinskulls.blogspot.com/2011/10/games-and-fall-weather.html

Above is a link to a former post where I was bitching about the weather and guess what. The Earth delivered. Today is like 60 degrees outside with sunshine and a cool, autumn breeze. I've been looking forward to this.

*                                                             *                                                               *

Well, I had to be at work early today but that leaves me with the rest of the day to do whatever I want to do! I think I might just relax because my leg hurts. (I slipped on ice this morning headed out for work and I fell... After slipping into an undignified heap on the porch, I fell to the ground but at least I landed on my feet...) I also might play some Shadow Hearts today. Who knows?

See, what did I tell you readers during the Welcome bit? There's nothing special here. You may laugh at times (like when I slip on porch ice) but that's the only thing that will entertain you. I promise.

The Annoyance that is...

...Taylor Swift.

She gets on my last nerve. She's so fake and she's becoming so commercial. Why aren't country singing females such as Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton doing stuff anymore? They were far better.

I really have a strong dislike for Taylor Swift. I think she's annoying. Her singing just isn't that good (it doesn't help that her songs are such generic lyrically) and she looks like she evolved from a rat. (For you gamers, think FF 9's Freya with a blonde wig on and holding a guitar...

She's got a perfume out now and to me, she's going too far. Who the hell wants a Barbie doll of her? I guess it's those same people that want to smell like her, too.... ughhhh.

7 billion

The news just said that the 7 billionth person in the world would be born on Monday (estimated date).

<<Someone should dispense condoms. Spay and neuter your children! >>

We're running out of supplies, water, food, fuel and much more. I don't really see how the world is going to keep functioning as we keep adding more and more people to it.

There was something else the news said but I may have it wrong. In the early 1900s, the population was like 9 million or something like that. QUIT FUCKING EACHOTHER, PEOPLE!!!! ADOPT if you really want kids that bad....

Seriously.

Black Lips equals Love

Here are my top two favorite songs of the moment.

One is Lost in Paradise from Evanescence's newest album and the other is Modern Art by the Black Lips, my new favorite band who pleasure my ears with their wacky 'flower punk' sound. :3

LOVE them. COMMENT this and TELL me what you thought. Or I'll have to find you and force headphones onto your ears. They'll be coated with superglue, mind you.

Games and Fall Weather...

If you know me, then you must know how my love for all things Shadow Hearts runs deep. You should also know that I own all three of the SH games and and a brand new copy of the first and third ones. I have been looking for quite some time for a cheap and brand new (factory sealed) copy of the second game, apparently everyone's favorite of the three and I finally found last week on eBay. Guess what.

Someone outbid me and the thing went for 37$ which is divine for them considering a Buy-It-Now copy of Covenant (the second game) factory sealed runs around 80$+. Oddly enough, I have found another brand new copy on eBay. It started with a 40$ bid and it ends within an hour. I am the only bidder on the copy.

Keep your fingers crossed for me, loves. :3 ^_^

Now, on the subject of Tennessee's Octoberlicious weather. It is rather cool here, somewhere in the 40 degree range my dear Granny told me during a phone conversation earlier in the morning and it is soaking wet outside from some previous rain that fell around 3 in the morning. I should know when the crap started as I was finally getting into bed about that time...

Now, I love fall weather. I love it more than any other season but when I think of fall weather, I think of crisp breezes, rustling leaves and pure sunshine on my face. Marvelous time. Not this dreary, winter-ish crap. :(

BRING ME SOME SUN AND A NICE BREEZE WITH 50 TO 60 DEGREE WEATHER, EARTH!!!!

Project Runway season 9's Winner

Well, if you are like me and watch Project Runway like it's a religion, then you must have formed your own opinions on the season finale that aired yesterday, October 27th, 2011.

There were four contestants that got to show their fashion collections at New York fashion week and the contestants couldn't have been any different.

We had Anya, a woman from Tobago or some place like that who did a Caribbean-themed collection.

Next is Joshua, the overly feminine and sassy bastard who's collection looked like stained glass, gowns seemingly made of motor oil and a pair of lime green shorts that made the model wearing them appear as if her vagina had grown a mouth and was trying to eat her legs.

The urban-themed collection of Kimberly Goldson was the best in my opinion. Kimberly should have won but was the first elliminated out of the four final contestants. She had gowns and dresses that the judges practically gushed over but noooooooo. It was good bye for Kim!

Lastly, there was Viktor Luna, who would have won had he not replaced four of his looks with a sheer fabric that would make Lady Gaga blush!

And do you know which of the four I listed won this latest season?

Anya and her Caribbean collection. Get this: prior to the show, Anya had only sewn for like four months. And her collection? The judges said she obviously did less work since she made flowing dresses with v-necks. How did she win you might ask?! I have no clue but I am fine with it. I wanted Anthony Ryan Auld to win this season but he was elliminated a few episodes ago and Kimberly took my favorite spot. She made it to the final four and as I wrote above, was booted out. :(
Here's hoping that we actually see Anya using her PR cred to its full potential!

It's Late... But Welcome.

Hello there. If you have found your way to this blog of mine, then you are in for a surprise. There's nothing special here.

You will find rants on current events, praise for all things Shadow Hearts, links to amazing music and tidbits on my daily life that you most likely find uninteresting and of no relation to anything that is going on in your life at the moment but this is my blog after all.

I may even post an occasional story bit or poetic work. Maybe pictures will find their way here eventually, too.

No matter what led you here or what you think of the content before you, remember that this is just life from my perspective.
