With the Good news comes the Bad

As an update to my last post, Granny is doing a lot better. The doctors found her real issue and have temporarily corrected it. Soon, it will be fixed permenantly and she should be marvelous.

We wrecked today in the rain. It could have been a lot worse. We could have went off the other side of the road which was a big hill/drop off but we just flipped the car onto its side in the mud. The paramedics had to bust the back windshield out to get us out of the car. It sucked. I'm shaken but fine.

Life just keeps getting worse

My granny, who I am very close to, is in the hospital. This is the second time she's been in the hospital in like a two month time frame and I am VERY worried about her. I am not big on country music, though I was when I was a child but Granny loves the following song and I'm listening to it thinking about her.

Please hope with me that she gets better. She's having heart issues and it's really hurting me. I used to live with her some years ago and she's just like another mother to me. I'm not ready for her not to be here on this Earth.

"life wasn't worth the balance or the crumpled paper it was written on..."

Listen to this. Ignore the video. Just listen to the song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ED5nXs2Nl_0

The song is Bring me the Disco King by David Bowie and Maynard James Keenan. I am loving it. (Heard it before but for some reason, it's enthralled me now.)

Well, life is beginning to take its toll on me. Everything is starting to suck... I think that yesterday and today, my two most recent off days, have really helped me out a lot. I am growing weary of my job, even though I adore most of my co-workers. (Some more than others.)

I feel sort of trapped. I really want to just drop everything and leave the state. Louisiana is really calling to me for some reason. I loved it there when my family (plus a dumbass stepfather) went some years ago. You ever feel trapped? Sure you do.

My friend Miranda wants to go to Italy. I want to go to Italy, too. We actually looked up houses for sale in Italy, France, Russia and to a lesser serious extent, China. We also looked up homes in Bora Bora because my soul yearns for Bora Bora. It looks so gorgeous and inviting. By the way, Russia has a lot of tiny stuff. They have miniature washing machines in the strangest places. One of the homes for sale had a washing machine right beside the toilet. (Add the fabric softner while pinching a loaf!) Another had a washing machine in the kitchen right beside the stove. (No! I said bread in the oven and jacket in the washing machine, you fool!)

Back to the subject at hand: I called out of work on Thursday and I was scheduled off yesterday and today. These three days of shopping, relaxing, DCUO playing and creating have been what the doctor ordered. I feel a bit better. Small bit that is. I still want to leave the state/country.

I need lots and lots of money to do everything that I want to do.... :/

2 am

It's late. I ran my ass off at work today and I am tired but something doesn't want me to lay down just yet. I can't quit thinking of so many stupid things and it is really annoying/sad.

I just wish that there was a way to tune out specific thoughts and ignore them no matter how many things in the day remind you of them.

I would love to grab the headphones and listen to some music right now but I think I may try to get some sleep. I do have to work again tomorrow. Not off again until Thursday, actually.

I........ can't say a word.

Evanescence's New Album

I have been a fan of Amy Lee and her amazing vocals since I first heard her wayyy back in the day. Her band's last album, the Open Door, came out in 2006 and for a long time, I thought that Evanescence was dead for the lack of activity on their end but in 2011, we got a new album finally.

Now, a bit of info for all of you: The Open Door is one of those rare albums that I can listen to every song on without changing it to another song. I love the entire album so going into the new album, I was a bit biased and was looking for incredible-everything.

At first, I was disappointed by the new album. :(

That being said, I have listened to nothing but the new Evanescence album and the Black Lips for like three months straight and I must say that I adore the newest album a lot more than I originally did. There are some songs that I do not like still, particularly those towards the end of the album, but I do have some favorites.

If you are going to listen to the album or already own it, here are my faves: My Heart is Broken, The Other Side, Erase This, Lost in Paradise, Sick, Swimming Home and of course, What you Want. Gah. Amazing Amy Lee. :3

GO HAVE A LI$TEN!!!!!!!!!!!

Shadow Hearts' delightful music

I love my precious Shadow Hearts series and its marvelous music. Listen to some of them.
City - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk2GmykGvLE&NR=1

This song is played in Prague. I'd actually go to Prague sometimes and just stand there in the game to hear this song. (Yes, PeneloWeazel on Youtube is me you comment readers........)

Imbroglio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DvpaKKLJjw

This song is the final boss music on the first Shadow Hearts. Appropriate for fighting God, huh?!

Ooh La La! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgpYKCHXElM

This song plays in the second game when the party meets my most favorite character, Lucia for the first time. The accompanying video for this is from the Director's Cut of Covenant which was only released in Japan.  (For those of you that don't know, Lucia is the brunette in the peach-hued dress dancing in the lead.)

The Fate - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr5mloai1B0

When you are coming up on the end of the second game, Covenant, this beautiful and sad piece will dry hump your ears. It makes me want to cry.

Battle With The Fallen Angel - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsDUEPvuVyI

This song plays during my most favorite boss battles in Covenant, those against Astaroth. EPIC.

Dead Fingers Talk - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1EFHMwKdkY

This song is my most favorite battle theme in the entire series of Shadow Hearts. It comes from the third game, Shadow Hearts: From The New World.

Chichen Itza - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJrtPOLYpLs

This marvelous tune plays in Chichen Itza when the party goes there. I love the whole feel of this song. :3

Sabbath Demon Banquet - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k_1GW40ZqY

Perhaps the best piece of music ever made for a video game and the only time you hear it in FTNW is during the "Bad Ending" of the game, where Shania is revealed to have been taken over by the Malice from Lady's kiss.

Lady Tears II - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MRHV_Cf41E

One of the most emotional pieces of music ever made for a video game in my opinion. When the song hits about 2:57 in, it really tugs at my heart. Gorgeous. Epic. Sadness.

Those are just most of my top favorites. Listen to the soundtracks from all three games to drink in the delightful feelings, good and bad, that I feel every time I hear the music.

I leave you with...

Prison - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ynt3e6WdwIU&feature=related

This song plays in Vegas and Alcatraz in FTNW. It's so amazing. It's dark, creepy and fun all at the same time.
